Simon Foster

Si began his acting career, like many, at school. Bitten by the bug at an early age he undertook many roles in school productions and local amateur theatre. His love of acting and comedy led to a life changing decision in 2001 to go and study Drama and learn the dynamics in order to teach primary children drama skills through other curriculum subjects and in its own right.

Recently, he relished the role of appearing as ‘Widow Twankey’ in The St Helens Theatre Royal’s production of Aladdin opposite Coronation Street’s Nick Cochrane (Andy McDonald), and the international illusionist Richard De Vere. He was also asked to appear in their Easter production of The Wizard of Oz as The Cowardly Lion and this coming season’s Christmas Pantomime as Ugly Sister in Cinderella. He shall also be playing the part of The Narrator in Tim Firth’s highly acclaimed comedy; Flint Street Nativity.

Si is no stranger to appearing in musicals either; Me and My Girl (Bill Snibson), Anything Goes (Sir Evelyn Oakleigh), Oklahoma (Ali Hakim and Will Parker), The Wizard of Oz (The Cowardly Lion), Annie (Rooster Hannigan) and many, many more. He has appeared in many plays too and recently undertook a central role in ‘Two’ by Jim Cartwright. He is also a keen director and has just had critical success directing the St Helens premier of the new Broadway 80’s musical ‘The Wedding Singer’ and has also had other success with The Wizard of Oz, Bugsy Malone, Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat, Oliver, Annie.

He has been teaching for the past 8 years and also teaches a Youth Academy every Saturday morning, in his home town of St Helens. Si is also hoping to embark on opening his own Drama Academy for children of all ages, and become involved in community projects, as well as being a Private Tutor for 6-14 year olds.
